I hoped all users of these de-drm tools would have been sensible enough to realize that de-drmed ebooks should not be uploaded to open servers, torrents, or other methods of mass distribution. No help will be given to people doing such things, and no links to such books should be posted here.

Запускаем любое “книжное” приложение с DRM (Kindle for iPad, Kobo, eReader от B&N и т.
Specifically, today’s exemptions include the following:
Permission for cell phone owners to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers or “jailbreak” their device Permission to break technical protections on video games to investigate or correct security flaws Permission for college professors, film students and documentary filmmakers to break copy-protection measures on DVDs so they can embed clips for educational purposes, criticism, commentary and noncommercial videos Permission to enable an e-book’s read-aloud function or use a screen reader with the e-book, even when built-in access controls prevent this Permission for computer owners to bypass the need for external security devices called dongles if the dongle no longer works and cannot be replaced via readwriteweb.
“Apple has not licensed Adobe Content Server for their iBookstore,” Nick Bogaty, senior business development manager at Adobe, told Computerworld. “They appear to be doing something else.”

The hacker, known only as Labba, posed a challenge on a hacker forum and was quickly aided by other programmers to discover the hack for the Kindle. They were essentially able to break the DRM protection and find a way to get the eBooks converted to an open format and into PDF files. This allows the files to be read on several eReaders, not just the Kindle. Now we have to wait and see what Amazon will do to patch things up, but Labba says whenever Amazon does release a software solution, he will be able to hack it again — just like the iPhone getting jailbroken with every software update.
Adobe today announced that more than 100 publishers, book retailers and libraries have adopted Adobe Content Server 4 software to protect PDF and EPUB eBook content and support the distribution to thousands of retail, libraries and other channels across the globe. In addition, nearly 20 device manufacturers have licensed the Adobe Reader Mobile software development kit (SDK) to enable PDF and EPUB support on dedicated reading devices. This furthers industry efforts to accelerate eBook standardization on the open EPUB eBook format, enabling companies to create, deliver and monetize eBook content on smartphones and devices using Adobe’s eBook platform.
