Taschen launches first app 21.12.10 | Katie Allen Taschen is to publish its first app this week, a re-release of architectural title Yes is More. Exclusive to the iPad, the £5.99 app will be launched on the iTunes App Store this week. The illustrated publisher appointed its first digital director Julius Wiedemann last month. Yes is More comprises the original 400-page “archicomic”, which sets out the radical agenda of Danish architectural practice Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in comic-book form.

So, for many delegates if there was one presentation that really stood out at FutureBook 2010 it was when Max Whitby, founder and CEO of Touch Press, spoke about The Elements iPad app. Not only was the project a unique idea (at the time) with an amusing story attached to it (after all — publishers and booksellers like stories), he revealed Touch Press have so far sold over 150,000 units at $14 each — with Touch Press receiving a 70% share of those sales.

Esquire для iPad, оказывается, делала ScrollMotion

via mashable.com Если судить по видеоролику, Esquire for iPad выглядит даже симпатичнее Wired for iPad. Если верить статье, то он ещё и весит в 5 раз меньше и сделан ан HTML5, а не на PDF. Примечательно, впрочем, другое. Сделала журнал для Хёрста фирма ScrollMotion, которая уже выдала больше 10 тысяч книг-приложений для крупнейших мировых издательств.
